I have been practicing law for ten years, focusing on estate planning and estate administration, and I am admitted to practice in both New York and Florida. I hold an LL.M. in Taxation with a specialization in estate and gift taxation. Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of working with families in a wide range of circumstances, from moderate estates to estates valued at more than $50 million. I also have experience helping families plan for Medicaid eligibility in New York and administering estates of all sizes throughout the state. What I find most rewarding about this work is giving clients peace of mind, knowing their wishes will be honored and their loved ones cared for after they pass.
Estate planning is personal for me. I’ve seen up close what happens when a plan falls short. My grandparents, as Holocaust Survivors and immigrants to the United States, worked incredibly hard so that they could have security pass that security on to the people they loved. Unfortunately, our family ended up facing a significant estate tax that better planning could have helped avoid. It was a hard lesson that showed me a good plan, kept up to date as life changes, really does make a difference for the people you leave behind and a ensures that hard work is preserved and passed on the way it’s meant to be.
I’m also the child of divorced parents, so I know firsthand that families come in all shapes and sizes and that they can change over time. Remarriages, step kids, and blended families can make things complicated, and it’s easy for someone’s wishes to get lost along the way. That’s why I think planning ahead matters so much, both to make sure your wishes are honored and to be ready for whatever life throws your way.
I live in Miami with my husband and our son. When I’m not at work, you’ll find me spending time with my family, getting involved in our community, or working on whatever fiber arts project has caught my attention lately.
